I would say that the year 2015 is not my luckiest year or worst year throughout the 19years of my life. But I am grateful that in this year, I met a lot of good people, and also bad people, who thought me a lot of things, who made me a better person.

To make 2016 a better year, I decided to make a good start for it.
That's where I decided to treat my family a dinner. Since I have already worked for 1+ months,
I had some income of my own. I think that I should do some action to appreciate
the effort that they have done to me in the past year.

(Photo taken on the CNY)

I think I have grown up a lot. Kinda ~ Even though I can't tell you how exactly I have grown or changed. In only 1 year, 12 months, 52 weeks, 365days really happened a lot of things.
Luckily I captured all the memories and recorded it here.
A lot of my "first time" happened in 2015.

My first time doing a makeup. My friend said that I am already an expert. LOL
Still far from it okay :P But I think I improved a lot la. Even my sister said that I didn't look weird with my makeup :D Yay ! It actually encouraged me to improve myself to become a prettier person, so that I can impress myself in front of the mirror or camera. I think that I looked quite different when I have my makeup on. But who doesn't ? :D

And then my first time going to a trip without parents ! I am looking forward this kind of trip d<3
It's quite adventurous to go oversea with those who are only few years older than you.
I always go oversea with my parents and a big gang of people. This was my first time, leaving my parents so far with only 3 cousins of mine, in a country that we have a barrel in language!

My last selfie, before I cut my hair short ! It's actually not my first time cutting my hair short.
But I think that it's the shortest hair I got after so many years. Well, I actually didn't take a lot of courages to cut my hair because I was fed up of it. And I kinda miss it now :/
It's weird that we always don't appreciate things that we got, but envy on other's people things.

Also, my first time going to Ipoh with them. We always have a short getaway together after exams. Last year, we went to Sekeping Serendah, and this year we went to Ipoh.
Ipoh is really a nice place to have a go with your friends. :)

My first time attending a convocation, despite it's not mine.
Do you have the feeling of loving and hating someone at the same time?
The feeling is complicated, but I have. The feeling got stronger toward my family. I love them not because they're my family, but also because they're those who know me the best, and will always be with me no matter what I have done. <3

Had my first memorable Christmas with them. I would like to say working as a teacher is not the funniest job, despite it looks like I enjoyed a lot and was having fun. :P No job is fun.
But it'll become interesting if you like your job and that's all about how you think about it.

Lastly, I want to thank my friend who supported me throughput the year. I think I can't live without them though. Like I am so blur and stuff. I always go to the wrong class, and they even can remember my class schedule, and I can't remember mine :P Such a shame >.< But I am quite fortunate that I met this gang of people, who always encourage me for doing things that I like. Thanks people :)

They said that if one's friendship have been up to 7 years, it'll become a lifetime friendship.
Our friendship has already comes to 7 years and I am glad that I know you. I have always wanted to have a lifetime bestie, and I even thought of contacting my primary school friend! Glad that you're doing well in your school and hope to hear you soon, my friend. May out friendship stays long. :)

(Looks like I was walking toward the door of a better life :P)

I am looking forward the year 2016 and more things that I have not done before, wanna break more my first time, but then of course, in a good way la ;)

Last but not least, I pray a better year for everyone of us.

Ps. There's too many photos/ memories that I wanted to post here,
but it'll make this post a very long post.

So I am here going to put my last full stop to end this post.

Love,
CLYL

Finally !

I am here blogging about the korean spicy noodle challenge that I have done with my sisters.
Due to my lack of experience, it took me quite awhile to edit this video.
I have shorten/fasten my 17minutes video to a 7minutes video :P
(Ps. I didn't cut any of the part in the middle)

This is our first time doing this kind of challenge/video and we're quite excited. The noodle is really spicy and I would like to say that don't try it if you can't eat spicy food. I mean don't simply try it la, because it's not good for your health and your stomach.

I half swallow half chew the noodle throughout the video. I thought that I won't finish the whole bowl, but I made it. I am quite shocked that I finished the whole thing though.

The after effect was really terrible. I got headache after eating the whole bowl of noodle and it's NOT fun at all ! My lips were swollen and I had diarrhoea the next day. I feel so sick that I feel like vomiting the whole thing that I have eaten (no exaggeration).

So, think carefully before you do something :)

Btw, this might not be the best video or what, but I put a lot of effort in making this video.
I really appreciate it if you watched the whole video. :)
(Sorry for the bad quality, it's taken using Iphone6)

Try not to miss anything in this video,
because you might lose the chance that will make you laugh :P
(ps. it's the real ugly side of me, without any exaggerating)

Hope you guys enjoy it :)

Love,
CLYL.

In the day of 22 December of 2015, it's a festival we called winter solstice.

According to the the western, winter solstice is an astronomical phenomenon marking the shortest day and the longest night of the year. While in the Chinese ancient legend, there's different story about winter solstice, and that's where dumpling appear.

Me, as a Chinese, of course believe the story that is made by the Chinese. LOL
There's one said that the winter solstice has the same position as the Chinese New Year (冬至大如年), which mean that the winter solstice is as important as CNY. Some people really see winter solstice as an important festival, and celebrate winter solstice grander than CNY.

There's also one said that no matter how old you are, you have to eat the exactly number of dumpling.
This is because after the winter solstice, it'll be a new year, and you'll be one year older.
And this helps people to remember how old they are. (If you know what I mean)

If you're 50years old, that's mean you have to eat 50 dumplings? Silly right? xD

This year, I had my most dumplings throughout the past few years.
Because I have eaten 4 bowls of dumplings and I am still craving for it :P

I had my first bowl before 22nd Dec. Mom made it with yuba bali (腐竹薏米) and I really love the combination <3 I had my second bowl after finished one :P

Then, I had my third bowl at the tuition centre! Thank you Peggy for bringing it to us :D
The ginger soup is quite spicy, but still bearable. (forgot to take the picture)
Her mother made it herself and it's so colourful and pretty.
Regretted that I didn't take a photo of it :/

Had my 4th bowl on Christmas Eve, because sister said she wants to eat dumpling XD
So we went to JayaGrocer and bought 2 packs of it.
One is with black sesame flavour and one is peanut flavour <3

I think that I have eaten 19 dumplings this year, or maybe more.
After so long ~ I finally got to eat so many dumplings in one year !

I still remember that I only eat a few balls of dumpling last year, because grandma thought that we don't like to eat and she only made some :/ Now, she knew that I love dumpling and she even remember it ! I am so touched and felt so loved <3

Hope that it's not too late to blog about winter solstice :P

Ho Ho Ho~ Merry Christmas peeps :D

This year, I had a wonderful memory for Christmas, unlike the past years.
My family, didn't really celebrate Christmas; we don't have candles on our table as decorations; we don't have a christmas tree (we actually got, but it died:/); we don't eat turkey; we don't exchange present; we don't carol; it's just another public holiday for us.

Sometimes, I wanted to celebrate Christmas like those Western families, or like my friends.
Do things that people will normally do in Christmas, like decorate the christmas tree, exchange gifts, have a warm and romantic candlelight dinner. Normally, the only festivals that we celebrate on December are Winter Solstices and my aunt's birthday.

This year, finally something is different. We still celebrate Winter Solstices, and cousin's birthday. But my bucket list for Christmas is finally achieved ! Except I didn't get to eat turkey in romantic atmosphere with my families, surrounding with the fragrance of candles. Maybe next time :P

I finally got the chance to decorate a Christmas tree! Even though it's not mine :P
I enjoyed decorating the Christmas tree though. Maybe it's because it's my first time and it's quite fresh for a first-timer. Not sure whether I will be this excited to decorate the christmas tree next time.

The presents that I received this year <3 Some of the presents I got, are from my student and one is the exchange present that I got from the teacher. We had an early Christmas party after work and I was so excited the day to come !

Notice that lollipop at the corner? I actually got that from a Santa! Erm, it's actually I "buih kien siao"(not ashamed of) took from the people. The person distributed sweet at TropicanaCity Mall, and I happened to be there, so I asked for the sweet :P

Peggy, who's in charged of the tuition centre.

This photo is quite blur, but it's okay!

This photo was taken after we exchanged present, and we're actually holding the present that we exchanged with the teachers. :D

(Ps. don't really like the quality of the photos. It's either very yellowish to blur :/)
I still believe on the Apple's quality :P

The one, who I am closest to at the tuition centre. Not sure, whether it's because we're the youngest one there, or because we went to the same primary school before. And surprisingly, we didn't even meet each other, before working here ! I believe that faith brings us together after so many years :)

My group ! I am so proud of you guys because we got the 2nd prize ! :D
Hope you guys enjoyed your day, just like me.

I also took some photos with some of my favourite students that I have/haven't mentioned in my other post :D Now, let me introduce all of them (You can skipped this part to the end if you want :P).

Jaysen! One of my favourite students <3
I think I had a crush on him! He is so adorable and smart :D

Chin Yee, a talkative girl :P
She always have stories to share with me when she saw me <3

Isaac Tan. The reason I liked him is because he's cute XD
Don't you think that he's cute? <3

Lucas ! I sometimes called him Luca, Lucus, and other funny name :D
He is nice to "bullied" :P

Ern Hui. One of the present that I received from <3
Thanks for the gift ! She's damn sweet ;)

Jannelle ! She is cuter when she doesn't throw tantrum. <3
She sometimes got frustrated when she can't remember the things that I thought her.
And I kind of don't like that attitude, but understood that feeling at the same time.

Jaden ! A banana, who won't speak mandarin only when I asked him to. XD
He's damn cute when he speaks Mandarin, because all the pronunciation will go all the other ways, which is funnily creative :P

Cherrelle, another sweet girl ! <3
Who's name has the same pronunciation as me ! :D
I sometimes get confused when people called Cheryl.
Because I am not sure which Cheryl they're referring.

One again, Merry Christmas people !! :D

The kids enjoyed a lot and I hope that you guys have a wonderful Christmas this year !

CLYL.

Food at pasar? Can eat one meh? No one is going to read this post one la~

But !

It's not the normal market that our mothers go. This market is not popular at their fresh seafood or vegetables or chicken. But, its popular at their food !

There's always some stalls selling food at the market, and I don't really eat the food there, except for this one. Got any interest ? If no, then sorry bye bye la, you can close this tab d :P

To those who are still interested, please continue scroll down :)

Few days ago, dad brought us here to have our breakfast, and I actually don't feel like going, because my first impression of having meal at the market is very unhygiene and not tasty.

Surprisingly, I ate quite a lot :D
Now, let me tell you what's worth to try :)

1. Toast

Their butter & kaya toast is really popular and tasty. If stay a good look at the others tables, you will notice that almost every table ordered it. It took us awhile for the toast to be served, but it's worth :D

2. Kopi- cham

Feeling a bit thirsty after eating the toast? Don't worry, they also come with the kopi-cham! People always come here to drink their cham (a mixture of coffee and tea), which turns out incredibly nice.

3. Chee Cheong Fun

To tell the truth, I don't really like the sweet paste of chee cheong fun, but this is exception !
I always like to eat chee cheong fun with curry, because I don't like the sweet taste.
BUT this one has totally changed my mind, because the paste is totally different from what we have eaten normally. And my mom keep claims that the sauce has the old days kind of taste.

4. Curry mee & Chicken noodle

I like their curry, as it's not the kind of curry that's very spicy.
So, I ended up quite enjoy myself, eating almost the whole bowl of noodle :P

The chicken noodle is very tasty and the meat is really soft!
Not sure what they have put to make the noodle so nice :P

6. Popiah

The popiah is just beside the Che Cheong Fun stall, and there'll be people lining up to buy.
So, it's kind of easy to find the stall. With the crispy bits, and juicy jicama (bangkuang), it makes the pohpiah tastier. :D

7. Ginger-wine noodle

The portion of this bowl of noodle is quite big. So, I recommend to share it among your friends if you want to try the foods that I have mentioned above. The Chinese believe that ginger can reduce the bloadness and wind, so it's what the mothers made for their daughters when they're pregnant.

It's not very spicy and it has the old days taste, which I personally really like !

8. Egg tart

Finding something sweet after your meal?

Try the egg tart ! They're freshly made and they even have other flavours, like kaya and charcoal crust. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try their charcoal-flavoured egg tart because it's sold out :(

The have really crispy crust and soft inner, which explain the queue. I lined up for more than 15minutes just to buy the tart xD But it's worth though

So, that's all for the post
Thanks for reading ! Have a nice day ahead !

Working as a teacher is totally a different story working as a promoter.
As a teacher, you are responsible to teach every kids students, who came here, and make sure that they got something (knowledge) back. The fees that they pay are not cheap though.
So, it's definitely not a relax daycare kind of job, for me to play around with the kids.
I have to make their parents, think that it's worth the price.

Unlike being a promoter, I can't walk around the shopping mall(centre),
when there's no customers(kids). I can't walk around the market to try out the other products or chit chat with other promoters there. I can't even use my phone, except when break
(I actually have no free time to play my phone and my phone is kept in the locker).

The only same thing working as a promoter and a teacher, is that you'll get to know a bunch of new people :D

Now, let's talk about what I hate the most, working as a teacher, at the centre.
One thing is that when the student is a slow-learner. (Besides working half day on Saturday)
Well, I can't blame them that they're a slow-learner right?
Okay, maybe I should change my sentence.

What I hate the most, being a teacher, is when the student is not serious at all !
I have some trouble students, who didn't have the "heart" to study, and it's really tiring to
teach this kind of students. They're like they thought that they came here, just to play with the other kids and not being serious at all. Urh~ Damn frustrated when they keep touch here, touch there, the eyes swing here, swing there.

What can I do when I met this kind of students? Just keep repeat "sit down", "don't move", "Concentrate!" & etc :/ We can't really scold them. Cause what if they cry ? :O
The youngest student there is only 3 years old! And some are 4-5 yo, most of them are 6-8yo.

But hor, there is some unique students, who keep laughing, even when I "scold" him/her.
Is that my problem or theirs? I am blur ...

It's not a boring job though, because there's always students in every session.
Unlike working in Tesco, morning that time sure don't have people one, and I'll get bored to die.
It is not an easy job as I said, because it sometimes get super busy. I will be rushing teaching 10+ students in 1.5 hours. That's tiring ! Especially when you didn't get enough sleep the other night.

The best part of the job is that I met really cute students
(even though there's some that will make me vomit blood)
But they're really sweet.

My favourite students of all. I think that she looks like my sister when she's small :P

This student, who is named Sky, he is english educated and studying in SK. So he didn't know how to read simple words like papa, mama, jiejie and stuff. I feel so proud, after teaching him so many words and he's no longer a banana (not a 100% banana) XD

There is also one cute student, who called me Jie Jie. My sister also called me jie jie but I feel so different when a kid called me Jie Jie, instead of my name or lao shi. He is damn cute and smart la.

I also like a student, who's called Hayden. He is a Malay. I didn't know that at first, because his skin tone is not very dark, until I saw her mother. He is very smart also, and he looks like one of my friends, with the long eye lashes, big eyes, with the ang mo feel <3

Recently, I got a really cute brothers, as my students. Both of them didn't even know how to speak basic mandarin like basic introduction of themselves. Of course, they also didn't know what is 貓 (cat), 狗 (dog), 蘋果(apple), 紅色(red), 跑(run), 坐(sit), and stuff like that. Therefore, the teaching method is completely different. I will show him the pictures animals, fruits, colours, to strive their interest in Mandarin. Now, they can recognise some of the animals and fruits! I am already feel happy of that, cause they're from 0% knowledge of Mandarin to maybe 2% !

Well, I actually have a lot of favourite students. And it's hard to introduce all of them here.
Overall, the job was okay. It's just that I might need to some to get used to their teaching method in the beginning. It's actually not a bad job, I think. Cause I got to sit down on my chair every minutes XD Unlike being a promoter, I don't need to stand for the whole day and smile like a joker :P

I am glad to know all of them :)

CLYL

Sister is finally graduated !

She actually graduated on the mid of July. But her school only hold graduation on November.
She went a lot of places with her friends, she went to Boracay, she went to Penang, she went to Bangkok and she is still not ready for a permanent work yet.

Do you believe that something bad will happen when good things keep happening?
I believe though. Sometimes, I feel quite uncomfortable when something good keep happening to me.
I feel like my luckiness is going to finish, and bad luck is not far away.
So, like I said, she enjoyed her holidays quite a lot, until something happened just the day before her convocation. I am quite glad that nothing worse happened, and she's all well now.

Sister's graduation somehow reminds me that I am no longer the small kid, who always play around, who always go to tuition after school, and she is now grown up.

It also reminds me that I will be graduating soon. But this time, it's not the small convocation that will hold in my kindergarden. It is also didn't represent another start of my study life. Instead, it will bring a whole lot different to my life. I wouldn't be studying or stressing about assignment and test.

But, I will be working the rest of my life, and it somehow scared me already. The thoughts of deciding my life myself, and the responsibility that I will be taking. I don't want to grow up XP
The outside world is too scary !

(Loving the candid shot that my sister took for me <3)

Well, parents actually were inside the hall, attending the ceremony.
Grandma, my younger sister and I were waiting outside the hall, because we didn't want to spend the extra money just to go inside and listen to the boring speeches :P

I am actually a lot closer to my younger sister, because we sleep together. LOL
And she's more gentle. I always fight with my elder sister, and I don't know why.
Maybe we're the kind of person, who are more aggressive? We don't want to lose and want to win.
What she got, I also want to get. :/

More shots that my younger sister took for me. #ootd

Well, at least I am happy that she's finally graduated and all the best Jie ;)

Last but not least, the video of the day. Just a very short one :)
Hope you guys enjoy it.

Thanks for reading !

Love,
CLYL
