Yellow Brick Road is one of the well-known cafes in KL and I have wanting to visit the place since last year. Finally, I got the chance to try out their food with my cousins and here are what I think about the cafe. 😊

The ambience of the cafe is pretty pleasant, with components of wooden furniture to add some vintage element. I visited the place early this year and that's why the Christmas decorations are still up.

Waiting for a table is something you should expect over here, especially over the weekends. The place is so crowded and you might need to share the table if you don't mind it.

Here are the choices of coffees and cakes.
Sadly, I could not stay to try more on the menu, because we were so full after having our brunch.

There is this kid's area for those who have children.
This might be the perfect place for you and your friends to relax and enjoy your meal. :)

Now, let's talk about food!

The Sawadi-Crab Burger   RM29

It is charcoal buns with soft shell crab, thai mayo, mango salsa, and sweet potato fries on the side.

The soft shell crab is fried into crispy golden brown, and I believe that it can never go wrong with soft shell crab burger.  Love the sweet potato fries, as it goes so well with the burger. 💗

Rate: 4.5/5

Egg Norwegian V2.0   RM27

Two poached eggs on cornflake crusted french toast with sauteed mushrooms, fried onion rings, and house-cured dill-infused salmon with hollandaise sauce.

Poached eggs were nicely cooked and the whole combination is such a winner.
Love this dish the most. 😍

Rate: 5/5

Balik Kampung   RM24

It is a combination of percik chicken served with turmeric rice and a zesty mango kerabu salad topped with a poached egg.

It is more like a Malaysian style of the dish (obviously, like the name). The chicken is nicely marinated, with some curry spices. I personally love the mango salad because it is soury, giving me a fresh taste after the meal.

Rate: 2.5/5

The Big Breakfast Bash   RM30

It is combinations of eggs, with the choices of beef bacon/ turkey ham, chicken/ beef sausages, served with mixed beans, hash brown, sweet potato, vine tomatoes, mushrooms, and toast rye bread.

For me, I feel that it is not worth the money even though they have different ingredients in a pot. Food is decent but the portion is definitely not the case. It is more like a "medium" breakfast? (OK, I am lame). Aside from the portion, especially love the beef bacon. 😙

Rate: 2.5/5

Chocoholic Anonymous   RM25

Chocolate pancakes served with chocolate shavings, fresh berries, Guinness/ Nutella sauce, and a scoop of Fatbaby chocolate ice cream.

We ended our meal on a sweet note. This is probably my favourite dish, aside from the Egg Norwegian 😍 The pancake is soft and the sauce is just nice, which won't make every too sweet (or jelat)

Rate: 5/5

Overall, I feel that the place is pretty good for hangout because of the environment and ambience. In fact, it is a very warm and cozy place to relax and enjoy your meal. The service was great and I was quite surprised by the number of non-locals having their brunch over here. 😆

I have never tried B.Liv products before, although I have read a lot of great reviews about their products.
Great news! I have finally gotten in hand this B.Liv O2 Bubbly Bright that everyone has been raving a lot 😆 It is never too late to try great products right? 😛

As you guys might already know, my skin tone is pretty yellowish and I always hope that it can be brighter and smoother. So, today I am going to share my experience of this mask to you guys!

The B.Liv O2 Bubbly Bright is an oxygenating mask, which can purify and brighten your skin. It has the oxygen bubble and rice powder, which can deeply penetrate into your skin to wash away all the impurities and leave you a brighter and softer skin.

Upon application, you will experience the magic as the mask frizzes into soft foam soaking up impurities while melting the dead skin for exfoliation. You can expect a brighter and even skin tone, with smoother and softer texture for your skin.

Tips

Here are some of the tips that I realised after I used the products. I wished that I have at least did my homework or known what to do when I was using the mask.

So here are some of the things that I have found and wish you guys not to make the same mistakes as me:

1. When I was shooting this image, I did not close the inner lid of the mask. This has made the whole product to form bubbles due to the bubble formulation (If you expose the product for a long time without the lid on, the bubbles will start to form). I should have remembered that this is the O2 mask, unlike the masks that I have been using.

2.  There is spatula given and I HIGHLY recommend you to use a spatula to scoop the mask out. By using your hand to scope the mask out of the tub, it might cause the mask to bubble up too!

**And ALL this can affect the quality of the mask!!

The texture of the mask is similar to the gel, which is very smooth and easy to spread.
It can be a little drippy if you scoop a lot of products out because it is not very thick either.

If you are observant enough, you will notice some small red beads in the gel. It is actually an exfoliant, which will melt away when you're massaging your face. It is very gentle and no harsh feeling, which is suitable for sensitive skin.

For the scent, it is actually very mild and nothing too strong, which I really love.

If you didn't know, the bubble foams can actually soak up the impurities and dirt that stay on your skin. When I first heard of this product, I was quite amazed at how it can purify, brighten and even exfoliate my skin! It's like an all-in-1 mask!

Steps

Use the spatula that is provided to scoop the mask out.
This can prevent the formation of the bubble in the tub and it is more hygienic.

Apply a thin layer of mask to your face and bubbles will start to form after a few seconds.
When the bubbles were formed, I can feel some ticklish sensation happening on my face. At first, I was quite worried because the feeling is very weird.

Here is the result after applying the mask. Bubbles were formed really fast and I can't really take a nice shot when the foams were all over my face. I was expecting the bubbles to be thicker and stay on the skin, but the bubbles are quite light and feel like it will drip easily, luckily it's only the feeling from frizzling bubbles.

After a minute, the bubbles slowly dissolved and disappeared!
I thought that the bubbles will be there for 5-10 minutes (as advised by the box), but I found that the bubbles can be gone in 5 minutes if you apply a thin layer 😆. This shows that the oxidation process worked very fast and I don't even need to wait long.

I massaged it once more time for deep cleansing and exfoliation since there are some small red beads in the mask. Surprisingly, a thin layer of foams has appeared again after the message. It is really gentle and I love how it won't hurt my skin.

Lastly, I rinsed my face with lukewarm water and proceed with my usual skincare routine.

As it is an oxygenating mask, the bubble will be formed when it touches the skin.
In order to preserve the mask and make it fresh all time, try to avoid the mask from forming bubbles. Even though it still can be used.

At first, I am not sure how much to put on my face, so I also tried applying a thinner layer. The bubbles formed even faster (so no picture) and it is less foamy (literally has gone after a minute).
So I feel that don't be too stingy about the product and avoid using too little cause it might be not as effective as applying an "appropriate" amount.

So here is the result of my skin! I feel that it is a really nice mask because I can feel that my skin is brighter than before. As an exfoliator, it might not be very effective because the beads are too gentle for me (LOL).

Overall, I feel that the B.Liv O2 Bubbly Bright Oxygenating Mask is a pretty interesting and decent mask. I can't really say that it has the whitening effect, but it does leave me a softer and brighter skin, as I can feel that my skin has brightened and is glowing after use. To be honest, it works very well in moisturising my skin and my skin did not feel squeaky at all. I also did not feel any skin tightness, which usually means over-stripping of the skin.

Hello, bunnies!
I was going through my photos and I realised that I forgot to blog about this really cute themed cafe, which has tons of instaworthy spots to take pictures at 😄. As a person who loves cafe hopping and brunch, I am definitely not doing a good job, especially when this cafe is just 10minues away from my house! LOL

So, how did I know this cafe?
Surprisingly, my mom was the one, who brought the fam here. She even came here for a few times with her friends! Really bojio sia. 😝 Btw, this cafe is hidden in the midst of some shop lots at Corporate Park, Kelana Jaya.

Entering the cafe, you will be greeted by this 2 cute teddies at the doorstep.
This teddy themed cafe is sure to attract kids, young and old (my mom😆).

Some little details in the cafe.
Love this little corner, made of cardboard and flowers. Don't you think this is lovely? 😊

They're too adorable that I wanted to bring them home!
I have never owned a human-sized teddy/ doll, so yea, they are superb cute. 😄
Even after so many months, I still cannot forget the ambience and these adorable teddies.

The Environment

Look at the walls! 😍
It is so dreamy like I am walking in a teddy castle in the fairy tale. 💗

The cafe is definitely kid friendly. In fact, it is perfect to bring the kid here because they won't be running everywhere! The teddies would be a good distraction for them to play with the soft toy (not ipad. LOL) and have better appetite!

You won't even feel lonely because there will be teddy sitting beside you!
You know, you can always talk to him if you're bored 😆 No one is going to judge you. Hahaha.
So, no worry if you're dining alone 😉

About the FOOD

Looking at the menu, I found that they have a variety choice of food for you to choose, from pasta, rice, toast, burger and even desserts! To be honest, we really have a hard time deciding what to order.
Below are some of the dishes that we have ordered. 😊

Teriyaki Salmon Toast (Rm17.90)

Look at how they make this dish so appetising! Even a kid, who is picky, would not reject eating it! LOL
This toast is pretty unique, as it combines both Western and Asian flavours. It is unique in a sense that it is actually a French Toast sandwich with salmon filling (with Teriyaki sauce), cheese to make the decorations, and coffee beans for the eyes and nose. In fact, it is not the typical sandwich/ French Toast that we can get any else where.

Lamb Chp with cheesy nachos (Rm19.90)

The lamb chop is pretty good and tasty, with ample portion of that price. The meat is not too rough or dry either and I kinda love it.

We have chosen the black pepper sauce, instead of the teriyaki sauce because the toast is already marinated in Teriyaki sauce. Thus, we wanted to try something different. Also, you can get to choose between rice, mashed potato or nacho as your side. As for this, I got some nachos because I was craving one. :)

Crunchy Chicken Burger (Rm16.90)

This is one of their famous order, the crunchy chicken burger. We initially wanted the Tower crunchy burger, which is like a double size of this burger, but we scared that we might not be able to finish all. This is really yummy as they have fried the chicken into really crunchy, with melted cheese underneath of the chicken.
Highly recommend this though 💗.

Egg Salmon Croissant (Rm8.90)

As you can see in the picture, the croissant is filled with cheese, tomatoes, cucumber slices, scrambled egg, smoked salmon and lettuces. You can as well get the croissant without salmon cause it is vegetarian-friendly. The croissant is crispy and it perfectly matches with some of the salty taste from scrambled egg and smoked salmon.

Love this dish a lot as well 💗.

Smoked Salmon Aglio Olio (Rm16.90)

Dad lovessss Aglio Olio so much, so we decided to try it. The pasta is decent but there is nothing special about it. The spaghetti is not too dry or too wet, with just ample amount of ingredients.

Picture with teddy that has been accompanying us throughout the whole meal 💗
This gigantic life-sized teddy bear is one of the attention grabbers of a lot of the customers. Everyone seems to love to hug it and take a picture with it.

Besides the main dish, the cafe is actually pretty famous for their cakes and 3D Art coffee. They even offer speciality designed the customised cake for their customers, whether it's a birthday party or any special events. Sadly, we were there for dinner, so we did not order any coffee that time. Okay, I found another reason to go back the cafe. 😆

Overall, I feel that Flavorest Cafe is a decent place to hang out with your friends and families. Bear lover will definitely love this place and the food is reasonably priced too (most are below Rm20)!
