Cheryl in Melbourne #17 | vlog | ft Shi Kei | Haters ?

As you guys know, Shi Kei is my housemate, and she is always the one, who helps me to take videos and photos for my blog. Therefore, I also helped her to take her video intro when she requested. Do subscribe to her to see her daily vlog ! (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyLn_8D8jSreymWAVA6M_SQ)

Also, I received a comment from a very rude guy, asking me to go back China. And I was like, hey dude, I am not from China, I am MALAYSIAN ! I think it's a he and he is very ignorant, who thinks that every Chinese people, or those who can speak Mandarin, are from China. Hello, at least I am better than you, I am bilingual :P.

I have been vlogging for a few months and I feel like being a vlogger is no longer a dream for me anymore. I love watching youtube videos, and I always wonder, what if I make videos just like them? I know that I cant be a beauty guru, (or maybe I can, it just that I still need some time, to improve my makeup skills), but I know that I can do daily vlogs! So why not start something simple?

When I got my offer letter from Monash to go exchange abroad, my first instinct was, it's time for me to start vlogging! It is not a hard thing to learn how to vlog, or edit video. What is real hard is to start it. I always don't have the chance to start vlogging. I can't find the reason to start.

But now, I find one. MEMORY.
That is what I want to keep.

If you ask me, what is it like being a vlogger, this is what I will tell you :)

1. Stares from strangers

You will have to bear with the strangers' stares. Not one or two person, but a street of people,
if you're vlogging outside.

At first, I felt super uncomfortable to vlog infront of people. I feel like they are giving me the look, that is telling me that I am a weird person. I feel like people are mocking at me, when I heard someone's laughing. But then I asked myself not to perasan. :)

I always vlog like I am the only one in the world. It is not like I am trying to be arrogant or anti-social, but to be self confident. Do things that what you think is right and don't mind what people thought of you. Yup, that's my trick :)

2. Awkward

I sometimes find it awkward to speak infront of the camera, because I am too conscious of my surrounding. Like what I have mentioned in my first point, I am not used to people looking at me.

I am socially awkward. I find it hard to start a convo with new people. I want to be a socialized person, but when it comes to a new surrounding or with new people, my brain just can't function.

When I can't social with people, how am I going to "social" with my camera?

I find it weird when some youtubers said that they're socially awkward, but still can talk so much in their videos. o.o

I feel awkward when I have nothing to say, and this kind of awkwardness lead to my third point.

3. Flaws

I see a lot of flaws through my own video. I am not good enough. I am not perfect.
I have limited vocabulary, and that is why I always say the same thing.

It is easy to see your flaws from the third point of view. Rather than letting people say how imperfect you are, how many flaws you have, it is better to find it out yourself and change to make a better you.

I love sharing stuff, but I am not confident enough. I am scared of judgement, that's why I don't share it out in my other social media, where most of my friends are.

Some of my friends don't even that this blog even existed.
This is how low key (unconfident) I am.

4. Memories

Since I have started vlogging, I am a bit reluctant to my dayre. I did update it once in a while, but most of my post are no longer that long anymore. Because I vlog everyday, I have limited time, and I always use my free time to edit video, instead of updating my dayre.

Vlogging is really one of the best choice to make the moment "stop" there. We can always rewind to the days, and enjoy the moments. Like what I always said memories might fade, but videos won't, because I have bad memories :P

One day, I would like to look back at my videos, and watch it like watching a drama, laughing at my own childishness and the young me.

5. Fun

I find that editing video is the most interesting thing that is happening in my life right now. It is a small getaways for me from all my works and studies.

Besides having fun, creating memories with friends, I got to record them and share it with my family (my best supporters). My friends (not many of them) always said that my videos are entertaining, and I am not sure whether it is a good thing or no. Are they making fun of me? Oh well, I don't know. They always laugh at my video and said that I am funny o.o

Sharing my first vlog with my friends over here!

Watching back the videos, the corner of my lips started to rise unconsciously.
Haha OMG I miss you Suen ! I miss the days we went out for food hunt !

Thanks for reading :)

Love,
CLYL.

Cheryl in Melbourne #13 | vlog | Falling asleep in the bus

In this video, I talked about being a finance student, you will get a lot of different finance calculators. I have been changing calculators almost every year because of different finance unit requirement. Luckily, the calculators are not that expensive and we can resell it when we don't need it or we got free from school :).

And then I also talked about me fall asleep in the bus. I was so tired and the road trip to the post office is so far. I don't know why did I follow them there as I actually can go back home myself. Oh well, I admit that I am a VERY big light bulb.

Hey there ! So fast, it's September now, which mean that 2/3 of 2016 has passed ! :O

Like WHAT !? 2017 is coming soon ?

Before 2017 comes, I still have 4 more months of favorite posts to share.
Let see what were my favorites last month :)

1. Makeup

Before makeup, my super dull skin >.<

Half face of Missha Magic cushion.
Guess which side of my face has applied the bb cushion :)

It's pretty obvious that left side of my face is brighter and my dark circle is less obvious.

My full makeup, without using concealer, but only Missha Magic Cushion x Line Edition. Shade 23!

So my current favorite bb cushion goes to this ! It's my first bb cushion and before that, I was using a normal bb cream, that will make my hands all messy. I don't usually use brush or sponge when I apply bb cream on my face because I feel that it's easier to apply them using my hand as a blending tool.

What I really like about this bb cushion is that it is very handy and can be blended easily. It works perfectly well with my Innisfree no sebum blur primer, giving me a brighter and even skin tone. The shade that I bought is shade 23, and it has medium coverage that can cover my pimple scar. I sometimes didn't put concealer because it gives me a natural coverage on my dark circles too.

So I really enjoy using this product <3

2. Music

Eric's album

From "This is love", “爱情教会我们的事”, “你好不好”,“我爱过你”, all super nice. <3

I can't stop playing it again and again !

Korean OST !

I always love Korean OST! They're always so nice. So, I have been watching uncontrollably fond for the past few days, and it is soo nice !

The other ost that I recommend for the drama are "Do you know- Kim Woo Bin" , and
 "Ring my vell- Suzy"

3. Book

Me Before You.

Finally finish reading the book <3 It is soo nice that I can't even stop reading it.

I finished the last few chapters, without stopping myself.
I am not sure whether I am heartless, or cold blooded, unfortunately, I didn't cry for this book.

*SPOILER ALERT*
Will is a very determined, smart and attractive guy, that even I am falling for him.
I don't know why, part of me are feeling happy for Will, because he got to decide to do the last thing that he wanted to do for his life. Of course, I am sad that he chose the not the best choice after all, but after knowing the reason behind his choice, I kind of understand him.

After the accident, he is no longer able to decide to do anything that he wants. He has to follow what people prepared for him, he has to rely on people on everything. He is no longer the Will that he himself recognize. The pain that he suffered, I don't think I can bear with it.

Overall, it is a good book.
It let me think a lot, and more grateful about I still can live the life that I want.

4. drama

W 2 Worlds

I believe that a lot of people who love korean drama, surely know about this drama.
The story line is so new and it is hard for us to predict what will happen next.
I really like how Korean drama always make me feel.

So why is the drama called W? Because it stands for world.
The main actor (Kang Chul) and actress (Yeon Joo) are from different world; Chul is from the world of comic and Joo is from the real world. Joo's father is an author of the comic, W. One day, Joo accidentally got pulled into the comic and there is when both of them met. Things started to go wrong, and both of them are trying to make things right, but they fell in love.

Will Chul sacrifice himself to leave the comic world and stay with Joo or will Joo sacrifice or both of them are not meant to be together? We will see then :)

Uncontrollably Fond

Joon Young and No Eu were couple back in high school. But due to an ill fated relationship, they separated. They met each other later on when Joon Young found out that he has brain cancer.

Things didn't go easier even when they are back together again. It is a sad and emotional drama, that made my heart broke. There is also some scene that is very funny and sweet, mixing all kind of feeling. And that's why I love this drama :)

So, that's all for my August Favorites, thanks for reading :)

CLYL.

So, we went to the city for good food. We had our lunch at the Emporium food court and the food is quite good. Then, we went to have gelato and coffee, which are great ! I think there is no bad food or coffee in Melbourne ! Lastly,  we went to Docklands to watch the fireworks. They are so stunning and beautiful.

It's just random stuffs I did at home when I have no plan at all. It's already 2 weeks since the day I reached Melbourne and it's time for me to get ready for my studies. I went to school and had my first class over here. It felt the same to me when I was studying back to Malaysia because of the way the lecturer teach us, but it felt different at the same time because of the environment.

So, I hope you guys enjoy watching it and I will see you guys next time :)

CLYL

It is fun to sleep over night at friend's house for 1-2 days.
But it is a totally different story when you are going to stay with your friend for a period of time.

Staying with friends is always not an easy thing.
Even when you stay with your siblings, there is always conflicts.
I remember what T told me when she knew that I am going to stay with my friends.
She told me that it is time to test how strong and true my friendship with my friend.

Friends are not like your family and I don't know why we always have unlimited tolerance with our family. But not with our friends.

We don't really get angry with our family, no matter how bad they treated us. But friends, different story then. We might get angry at each other for longer time. And sometimes, when things got more serious, there can be broken relationship. For family, there is no schism.

So, let me tell you what are the problems I faced with my friends staying with them.

1. Food and taste preference

I consider myself as eating quite healthy.
It is hard when you have different taste with your friend.
You have to take your portion first, so that they can add more salt in the food.

Things you don't like to eat, they love it. While things that you love, they don't give any interest.
I am a chocolate lover, while my housemate is a vanilla lover. How can both of us be best friend?
I thought vanilla and chocolates are enemy and they don't get along well?

Life is harder when it comes to food.

2. Living style

The living style is also one of the problem staying with friends.
Every family has their own way of living, and it is impossible that everyone is living that same particular way. Like Mathematics, there is always tons of ways to solve the problem
(tons of ways to live).

So, in my house, we don't have the habit to wipe our plates and then keep them in the cabinet.
I normally leave the plates on the rack and leave them dry overnight.
However, my friend have the habit of wiping them clean, and it seems like we have to do that over here, to put our plates in the cupboard.

It is quite hard for me to have this habit, because I don't do it at home, and even after I am here for like 2 months, I still sometimes forgot to keep them in the cabinet.

3. You will get "sien" of that person

Seeing someone too often is kind of  "sien". Which mean you will get bored of seeing their faces.
 We literally do everything together.

We have our meal together, we go to school together, we  do our grocery together, and
yea we almost do everything together. Luckily we don't sleep together xD

I think I am a person, who doesn't like an ordinary life, but am living it.

4. Bad habits

You will get to see all their bad habits. By the time you lived with your friends for more than 2 months, all their bad habits will all come our automatically.

Living with friends, you will get to know like how often they take their bath, what they always do and eat, how often they wash their clothes and stuff like that.
Of course, they will also get to see all my bad habits.

How we solve the problems and what really make our friendship stronger is that we accept each other as a person who we are. We talked to each other and solve the problems. Instead of letting the discomfort or leaving the problems there, we talk to each other and try to solve them.

I might not be the best housemate or friend, but thanks for accepting the way I am  :)

My mom was so worried that I might fight with my housemate, as I am quite a stubborn person. But mom, don't worry, I am totally fine here. I will try to control my temper and get aong with them.

Love,
CLYL
