Althea's A'bloom Products are finally in town! When they first launched them, it got really good feedback from the beauty influencers and I am super excited to try them out!

If you guys followed me in my Instagram, you might already know that I just came back from Korea and I already can't wait to share my experiences there! It was my first time visiting the land of kimchi and oppa, despite I love Korean beauty so much.

In today's post, I will talk about the Althea A'bloom that I have received before my trip.
It's all about young, cute and fun, as you guys can see from the picture. I always love Althea's products because their targeted customers are students and young adult (小资女孩), which result that their products are always very funky and in a super affordable price.

A’bloom
Refreshing Skin Mask Pack

These mask packs have very strong antioxidant with the fruits extract and natural
ingredients of plants that provides custom care solution for each skin type. The PH balancing
helps strengthens skin barrier as well as re-charge the skin with fresh energy. The masks have also soothing energy to take care of different skin concern, such as hydration, nutrition, whitening and
blemishes.

The sheet masks are made out of 100% natural eco-friendly fabric to deliver the essence of the fruit to our skin effectively. Plus point for the essences, is that they are formulated with reduced viscosity t which make the mask less sticky.

A'bloom Water-Me-Long
Moisturizing Watermelon Mask Sheet

The moisturizing watermelon mask contains the watermelon extract, which has 92% of water, is an excellent ingredient for moisturizing and soothing the skin during the hot weather. Having the natural amino acid that forms a natural moisturizing membrane on the skin, it leaves a moisturized as well as a smoother skin that does not dry out.  The mask also contains the lavender extract helps soothe sensitive skin and provides liveliness.

A'bloom Ac-Me-Peach
Anti-Blemish Peach Mask Sheet

The anti-blemish peach mask sheet contains peach extract, which is rich in moisture and vitamin A retinol components that can help to control the oil and water balance of the skin. It can also help to normalize the skin turnover cycle with retinol by preventing troubles and taking care of dead skin cells and provide smooth, hydrated skin. Essentially for an anti-blemish mask, it contains tea tree extract to help sterilization and takes care of trouble spots and pores.

A'bloom Avo-Cuddle-Me
Nourishing Avocado Mask Sheet

Avocado is known as the butter of the forest with rich protein that prevents ageing and
provides strong antioxidant with vitamin E tocopherol. This nourishing avocado mask is also mixed with hibiscus flower extract that contains Anthocyanin, an antioxidant to prevent the skin from ageing.

A'bloom Sparkle-Me-Bright
Brightening Lemon Lime Mask Sheet

The brightening lemon lime mask contains in high vitamin C to help repair and protect the skin from UV damage, It inhibits melanin productions to provide clear and fair skin. It also contains green tea extract which is also rich in vitamin C to assist in controlling melanin production and skin care.

I tried the Sparkle-Me-Bright first because my skin was really dull and in need of a bright clear skin before my trip. Loving the lemony scent of the mask, which is soaked with generous essence in it.

As shown in the picture above, you can see that the mask is really thin and breathable. It is almost like I did not apply anything in the first picture, where the colour of my face is almost the same as my neck. Also, the sheet is very big, which is pretty good for those who have a wide face like me, or even wider. LOL.

After leaving it for 10-20minutes, my skin feels really nice and soft. It is super gentle and not harsh at all because some vitamin C products can leave some stingy sensation if you have sensitive skin or wound on your skin. But with this, no stinging sensation at all. Really love how it makes my face so moisture and bright after using it. 💕

A'bloom BHA Blackhead Blaster

The BHA Blackhead Blaster is an easy and quick triple treatment for blackheads, whiteheads and
dead skin for daily care. It contains natural ingredients to help gently deep cleanse the pores and removing dead skin cells while preventing any irritations or redness on the skin.

If you have oily t-zone, you must be very close to blackheads because it's where the blackheads love to stay. It is super annoying and hard to squeeze them out but with this blackhead buster, you can get rid of them effortlessly.

This blackhead stick contains natural BHA ingredient that helps to deep pore cleanse by exfoliating the dead skin cells. It is very gentle, where you can use it every day or every consecutive day. It also contains apricot seed powder to help to remove excessive sebum and charcoal to absorb the dirt in the pores. Of course, it contains tea tree leaf oil to help to soothe and prevent any redness and irritations on the skin.

Directions
Dampened the skin, apply the stick directly on targeted areas and massage in circular motions for
30 seconds. After that, rinse off with water.

The exfoliation is very gentle and I really love the tree tea scent. The application is very easy where you can clean your nose in just 1 minute without any hassle or pain.

From the picture, you can't see much difference as one of the reasons is that I do not have much of a blackhead issue. However, when I look at it up close, I can see that there is lesser whitehead and my nose does feel very clean and soft. Con side, it is a bit drying on the applied area.

A'bloom Meringue Puff

I'm sure the makeup puff applicator is no stranger to you, but have you ever seen such a cute meringue puff that works like a beauty blender? This is the first beauty tool from A’bloom by Althea and it is the first meringue sponge puff designed which was inspired by baking meringue cookies.

Both of the meringue puff is able to expand 1.5 times bigger in size than an ordinary puff after soaked with water. It makes the application even easier after the puff expanded and what is more awesome is that the puff is made out of the non-latex sponge.

You can obtain 2 -way perfect skin expressions, with the puff soaked with water to achieve moist and glossy skin, or without the puff soaked with water to achieve matte and flawless skin.

I love using this A'bloom Baby Meringue Puff, as it allows you to apply makeup with detailed edges of mini-sized sponge puff to achieve fine and flawless skin makeup. It is very suitable for under eyes for concealing and they don't crease, giving me flawless skin.

The giant meringue puff will provide quick and smooth makeup application on wide surface of
the skin while the baby meringue puff will provide fine and detailed makeup application on
small surface of the skin with its pointed tips.

That's all for my review for Althea's newest collection, the A'bloom products!
What do you guys think? The masks are definitely my favourite, as well as the meringue puff!
They are super afforadable and I believe you can never get such products with good value, out other places.

For more info, feel free to check out Althea's website or the A'bloom products, HERE.
Hope you have a nice day. :)
Thanks for reading!

Love,
CLYL.

Hey Bunnies!

Welcome back to my little space.

Today I would be sharing this newly released product from Althea and it is none other than the Stay Cool and Calm Products! They just came out with the Waterful Green Bamboo pads and the Skin Relief Calming Cream, which can calm and soothe your skin. I have shared the Bamboo pads HERE and now I am going to talk about the calming cream.

This Skin Relief Calming Cream is able to keep irritated and sensitive skin calm and cool. The key ingredient of this calming cream is the Panthenol, which keeps the skin hydrated and soothes. It has the special substance that changes into vitamin B when absorbed into the skin, and keeps skin hydrated and soothes while strengthening skin barrier function.

In short, it is a soothing cream that hydrates and repairs damage caused by irritations and harmful environmental factors.

If you are worried if it is moisture enough for your dry skin, don't worry, it is intensively hydrating and deeply moisturizing, as it contains a mix of shea butter and hydrogenated lecithin nourish the skin and form a moisture barrier while chamomile water and seawater soothe and improves moisture retention in the skin.

The texture is like gel cream, where it glides smoothly like water, unlike the heavy moisturizing cream. It has a hint of lemony scent and it actually smell not that bad.

** It is FREE of Paraben, Synthetic pigment, Triethanolamine, mineral oil, Benzophenone-3, animal ingredients, Propylene Glycol, ethanol, Talc, and Benzoic acid.

HOW TO USE

After cleansing and toning the skin, apply an even layer and gently pat in till absorbed.

It claims that it provides the skin with deep hydration and quick soothing care while being absorbed softly without any greasiness or heaviness. However, I do feel that it is a little sticky for my skin, and I have a combination skin type. For me, I personally don't feel that it has the calming/ soothing effect, but it does feel really moisturized.

Overall, I think it is a decent hydrating moisturizer for those who have dry, sensitive and acne prone skin.

To purchase, visit Althea's website / click HERE.:)

That's all for this post, I hope you girls find it a little helpful and I will see you in my next post. :)

In this post, I will be sharing the bamboo pads first. :)

This Waterful Green Bamboo pad is a moisture pad that preps skin with maximum hydration in one step. It can instantly soothe and deeply moisturize your skin, giving your face the healthy glow that everyone loves.

Just like the name, it contains bamboo extract which is rich in mineral and amino acid which can deeply penetrate into the layers of the skin to hydrate while protecting the skin's barrier with moisture.
Besides that, it also contains Salix nigra (Willow) bark extract, which is a really good anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties for a gentle non-irritation treatment for mild troubled skin. It also contains the Centella Asiatica Extract to treat and repair damaged skin.

The bottle of pads is well soaked with bamboo extract, giving a really decent amount of hydrating essence to smooth skin texture or even to prep your skin before makeup!

The scent is really nice and refreshing, which I immediately fall in love with.

From the picture, you can see that the bamboo pad is not the regular cotton pad, that any other brands use, in fact, it is made out of a mix of eucalyptus and tencel to create a natural cotton gauze that allows the essence to absorb well into the skin.

Using the Althea's newest Moist-veil System technology, it can keep the skin hydrated all day long and prevent the moisture from evaporating. By forming a moisture network patch to keep moisture in, one swipe can replenish moisture while encouraging the absorption of active ingredients for skin that glows.

HOW TO USE

As a toner pad
After cleansing, wipe onto the skin, starting from the centre of the face and working your way out before gently patting the skin until the product is fully absorbed

As a mask pad
For a more concentrated dose of hydration, place the pads onto targeted areas of the skin and allow to sit for 10-15 minutes. Remove, then gently pat in the remaining product into the skin until fully absorbed.

My skin feels really refresh and hydrated after using the bamboo pads. It gives me all the moisture that my skin needs, yet it is not too heavy. At first, I thought that the amino acid would be a little strong for sensitive skin, but it is actually pretty mild and does not react even on my pimple.

I have tried using it both ways, as a toner pad, to clean and soothe my tiring face, and as a 3 minutes mask pad when I am in a hurry in the morning. So far, my skin really loves it and it is more hydrating than before. :)

To purchase, visit Althea's website / click HERE.:)

That's all for this post, I hope you girls find it a little helpful and I will see you in my next post. :)

Have you heard of the brand ID.AZ?

ID.AZ is actually a Korean brand, from ID Placosmetics. It is part of the ID Group, which specializes in Health & Beauty from Facial Surgery to non-invasive functional cosmetics.

There is even an ID hospital with the most advanced medical equipment and system that provides medical treatments such as plastic surgery, dental, and dermatology. In fact, it's the only certified plastic surgery hospital in Korea.

Last year, I got to try out their sheet masks and I am in love with them. Read my review HERE. :)
Recently, I got my hand on the  ID.AZ Face Fit CU-V Tensioning Sleeping Pack and I am super excited to try it out as it will make my face V-shaped overnight, as I have a big round face. Thus, I really look forward to seeing the results. :D

The mask is formulated with Wild Yam and Turmeric extract to brighten and nourish, while soothing White Mulberry and Marigold extract to refine skin texture. It is able to lift the face firmly, making a sleeker and slimmer face line.

It claims to slim, tighten and smooth the facial line overnight to achieve V-shaped face.
The key functions of the product are: improve skin density and elasticity, improve sagging face, lifting, anti-ageing. It is also able to whiten and smoothen your skin for a brighter and tighter face the next day.

I like the design of the container, which is sleek and classy.
Also, it is pretty bulky and sturdy for a skincare container, which might not a great idea when it comes to travel.

There is this lid inside to prevent the product from spilling too.

The texture is more on the creamy, slightly sticky and oily side. It is also very smooth and easy to spread.
While the scent is not too bad, with a light fragrance.

HOW TO USE

After cleansing your face, use a dime-sized amount of sleeping pack as your last step of your skincare routine. You can use it over your moisturizer for a better moisturizing effect or use it alone after your toner. It is suggested to tap the product over the face to ensure better absorption.

Lastly, head to bed and let the sleeping pack to do the work. ;)

Verdict

There is a slight stickiness on my skin after the application and my face feels a bit oily the next day.
To be honest, I didn't feel that my face has become shaper or more V after using it for almost 2 weeks. Not sure if it makes my skin firmer, as it doesn't feel "tight" on my skin and I can't really see the "lift". Probably the gravity is too strong here? HAHA. Or it might be my face meat, which happened to be heavier and my skin hasn't sagged yet.

Hence, I shall put this to a test on my mom, who has more wrinkles and saggier skin than me. And I will update to you guys if it really works on reducing wrinkles and firming the skin. ;) Hopefully continue usage will show a more obvious effect.

That's all for this post and I shall see you guys in my next post.
Btw, you can grab this ID.AZ Face Fit Cu-V Tensioning Sleeping Pack from Watson's now at RM199 (original price)- either from your local store or online. :)

Happy shopping!

Love,
CLYL.

Hi, lovelies!

I believe I have mentioned a lot of times that cleansing is a very important step in the skin care regime. Whether I have applied any makeup on my face or no, I will still cleanse my face with micellar water every night. This is because you will never know how many dust and dirt have stuck on your face throughout the day! Also, sunscreen is considered as "makeup" because it contains SPF and it is definitely not a skincare.

If the cleaning step is not done well, it will easily lead to blocked pores, blackhead, whitehead, acne, and more.
Therefore, daily cleansing is very important!

Recently, I got my hands on the Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser, which combines the powers of a cleanser and serum. It is a purifying cleanser with a serum-like formula that removes makeup, dirt and oil without drying out the skin. To ensure our skin remain healthy, it is able to soothe the skin and balance the pH level. In fact, it is a gentle hydrating cleanser that is even suitable for sensitive skin.

The key ingredients of the product are Mint Leaf Extract (cool down and soothe irritation), Jojoba Seed Oil (moisturise the skin) and Tea Tree Leaf Extract (contain antibacterial properties that purify the skin). It also contains Pure Mint Extract to extract enlarged pores and removes dead skin cell.

Why is it called the pore purifying serum cleanser?

This is because it has a dual moisture cell system, which is a combination of water and oil in overlapping layers to remove the makeup and dirt gently, yet effectively. It is able to envelopes the skin in a serum-like formula and keeps your skin hydrated from deep within.

With the dual moisture system, it prevents the skin from drying out and minimizes enlarged pores, keeping it smooth to the touch.

I love how minimal the packaging is and the runny clear texture of the cleanser.
The scent of the cleanser is very pleasant and nothing overpowering, which I am very happy with it.

HOW TO USE

Here is my face with my full makeup, where there are long lasting bb cushion, eyebrow pencil, waterproof eyeliner, mascara and more.

I always hate to remove eye makeup, especially mascara. It is so hard to remove with micellar water and even cleansing oil (I shall not mention what brand is it). LOL.

First, pour a generous amount of the pore purifying serum cleanser on a cotton pad.

Secondly, hold it for 5 seconds.
I always find it easier to remove my eye makeup this way.

And VIOLA!!

90% of my eye makeup is removed! I am actually pretty impressed! 😍
But one of the cons of using this cleanser is that it stings my eyes so badly. T.T

Left is before removing eye makeup and Right is after removing eye makeup.

Can you see the difference?

You can always use it as a cleanser, where you have to damp your skin before applying a small amount of the product. After that, gently massage the skin for 5-10 seconds rinse it off with water.

As a makeup remover, I suggest you to soak the cotton pad with the cleanser and wipe the makeup off from your skin. Of course, you can always remove your makeup without using the cotton pad, but it really stings your eyes if it gets in. So using the cotton pad would lessen the tragedy from happening. :)

From top to bottom: Foundation, concealer, eyebrow pencil, water eyeliner pencil, waterproof eyeliner, mascara, matte lipstick, lip tint.

After massaging it for 5-10seconds, I can see that 90% of the makeup is removed, except like mascara and some of my eyeliners. After doing this experiment, I feel that the serum cleanser is not that suitable for removing eye makeup because it shouldn't be stinging so much if it got into the eyes and it should be a rather easy task to remove eye makeup.

Verdict

Overall, I think that this Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser is a pretty good makeup remover, besides that it stings my eyes. :(  I love how it is able to melt my makeup and make the removing part so easy. I am not sure if it has minimized my pores, but it definitely didn't dry out my skin. Instead, my skin feel refreshed, soft and clean after using it.

Unlike the cleansing oil, it does not leave oily sensation on my skin. Whenever I use oil-based makeup remover,  I always need to double cleanse to remove the remaining dirt and oil. But this is serum cleanser, thus no double cleanse is needed. (It is already a cleanser, duhh)

That's all about this serum cleanser and I hope you guys find this post helpful.
Thanks for reading. :)

Hello beautiful souls out there!
Finally got the time to do a proper throwback to 2018.
Has been pretty busy and occupied with stuff that is pending since last year. LOL

Without further a due, let's fasten our seat belt and sit the flight back to 2018. 💓

January

Started my first full time work and here is where I changed my "toilet-mirror-ootd" to "office-lift-ootd". If you follow me long enough, you will know what's it. HAHA.

Can't believe that I have already worked for 1 full year and I am finally not a Management Trainee! Wohoo!! I shall have no complaint about my work because I consider myself as the lucky one. I don't have to bring any work to home/ work in the weekends, OT is not like until 8/9pm everyday, have super friendly and nice colleagues and boss, get to enjoy a lot of staff benefits and so on..  Most importantly, I am employed! Yeap.

February

February is one of my favourite months because one of my favourite festive lies on this month. Do you guys know what is it? That's right! It's Chinese New Year, aka the season of eating and gaining weight. LOL. Love all the CNY cookies and of course red packet. HEHE.

I have been doing this Chinese New Year Lookbook since 2016 and
I am planning to do it again this year. 😍

April

Another favourite month. 💓
Besides that it is my birthday month, it is also the month where I have officially graduated from Monash University! I have made a video about my convocation, feel free to check it out. :)

Guess who turned 5 that month!
Yeap, The Butterfly Project and I shared the same birthday month. 😍
I have shared the party and everything you have to know to host a unicorn party HERE.
It was indeed the best party I have attended.

May

Feel really blessed and grateful to be able to meet the lovely girls and pampered by brands. It is one of the life-changing moments where I know I am actually capable in doing something, such as uploading a video every week/ trying new stuff.

It feels great to challenge myself every week and that 2 months of Vlogstar Competition is by far the most enriched moment in 2018. Check out my Youtube Channel :)

Oh and not to forget that I have joined the general election for the first time! The election was so intense that everyone is hoping that miracle would happen. It was like a drama that I have watched online but in reality. At last, we have made it to a change and hopefully, Malaysia is a better place now.

June

I got nominated to represent my department for my company's annual dinner dancing competition. I had an intensive 1-month dancing practice during the working hour (yea, almost 8 hours a day).
I got to meet a lot of fresh graduates, who just joined the company, just like me and some experienced seniors from different division/field. We shared a lot of memories even though it just a short 1-2 months. Very grateful that I am still able to meet some of them, and have lunch together once in a while. Will never forget the happy moments we shared. :)

July
Out of 11 shortlisted Nanowhite Fresh Vlogstar, I got to squeeze in the top 7. I was actually quite worried that I am not able to stay until the end and attend the grand dinner/ the ceremony. This is because only the top 7 finalists are "qualified" for the ceremony and attend the dinner.

This is my last video for the Nanowhite Fresh Vlogstar and also the end of my 3 months money-can't-buy experience. Even though I am not the ultimate winner, I do have a lot of fun learning and growing. Really appreciate the opportunity that is given.

August

Another happy moment to share. If you didn't know yet, I am one of the Althea Angels! Aka Althea Angels Beauty Ambassador 😍, where I will be getting like tons of beauty products to try out. It was an honour to be able to be one of them and have a long term collaboration with my favourite K-beauty online beauty shop. 💓

September

Attended my favourite Japanese makeup brand event! Never thought that I will get invited to the event because I am still like a potato. HAHA. I planned to do like a makeup tutorial using only one brand, which is Canmake but am always occupied with something, which make me postponed the video for soo long! Should really get back with it after I am done with my travel post. LOL.

The whole trip was super chill and filled with good Penang food, that is recommended by the locals. Yup, 2 of them are Penang-lang, which made this trip to happen so successful. I think this is probably my first time visiting Penang because I have no memory for Penang at all. LOL.

Really enjoyed myself during the trip, even though something bad happened.

October

Celebrated Halloween for the first time and it is sooo fun!
Wanted to visit Stanger Things in USS but it's so expensive and I bo-lui. T.T
But Halloween in Lagoon is more than enough for me, since it's my first time. xD

November

Got back my car.

This might not be the best memory, but it was indeed the most impacted lesson in my life. Rmb I went to Penang in September? I got into a car accident on my way to Penang. I was so scared, but calm enough to make a phone call to my dad. It was just the beginning of the trip, but it already feels like a nightmare. I did not talk much about this incident because it is not something very nice to say.

Thankfully everyone is alright, even though there are like bruises all over our legs, but nothing major than that. It was my first car accident and hopefully the last one. Drive safe everyone. 💗

December

Celebrated early Christmas in my favourite country!! Have always wanted to visit Japan and especially Hokkaido in winter. 💗 This is definitely a dream come true and I feel so blessed to be able to make it so soon.

It is so magical to be able to see snow for the first time and nothing can describe how happy I am.
I am already missing the place and someone please bring me back there again. 💗
Definitely a great way and a great month to end my 2018.

There is up and down in life and it is extremely important to see the beauty in everything.
Even the worst moment can be the best memory for you and the greatest lesson to learn/own.
What's your best moments in 2018? Share it with me :D I am more than happy to know it.

Love,
CLYL
