Hello! Harllow!

When is your last trip with your family and friends?
I seriously can't remember when's mine. It has been so long since I last travelled.

I am so grateful to be able to meet them, which I knew for like a few months (not even half a year). We click so well that we decided to have a 3 days 2 nights road trip to Penang. When going for a trip, the hardest part is not planning the itinerary, but the people who is going. Super glad that they are very easy going and ONS kind of person.

The whole trip is a very chill one, all about having fun and enjoying good food, that is recommended by the locals. Yup, 2 of them are Penang-lang, which made this trip to happen so successful. I think this is probably my first time visiting Penang because I have no memory for Penang at all. LOL

Here is what we have done and if you're lazy to read, you can just straight to the video ;).

For the first day, we had our breakfast at 7 Village Noodle House, where they serve really good noodle soup. After that, we sit the ferry to Georgetown and went to a nearby temple, Thai Pak Koong Temple. In fact, there are so many temples in Penang that we didn't know which one to visit, while Kek Lok Si Temple is a bit far from where we stay, so we decided to give it a pass. After that, we had some layered cakes at The Twelve Cups and decided to chill a bit in our Airbnb before dinner. Dinner was at a nearby food court which I can't really remember. We also walked around the 1st Avenue Mall and visited a nearby hidden bar, Magazine 63, before we really start our night at Ozoo.

For the second day, we had the best laksa and fried pohpiah at Penang Air Itam Laksa. We also have the Air Itam Sister Curry Mee, which is pretty famous, but we find the food So-So (not very nice) only. After filling our tummy, we went to Escape Park and spent half day there, which is not enough at all! Dinner was at 888 Hokkien Mee, and it is SOO Good! Cendol is very nice as well, so if you happen to be there, should defo try them. Had desserts (best tiramisu cake) at the longest and coolest cafe, China House. Before we had our supper at the famous fish head bee hoon at Village Fish Head Bee Hoon, we went to take some picture with the Penang mural art and Lee's Jetty. Fun fact, the Penang supper is pretty extreme because they love having spicy fish head noodle before they sleep. LOL.

For the third day, we had our dim sum nearby and went back to KL early in the morning.

Phiuh, yup, that's all for my Penang trip!
Sorry, not much picture, cause I keep focusing on taking videos that I neglected my photo.
Anyway, hope you guys enjoy reading/ watching the video and I will see you guys soon.

Love,
CLYL.

Hello everyone, I am finally back to my blog!

I have drafted a few blog posts since April and they are still there. I have neglected them for the longest time and I promised myself that I am going to post all of them, once the competition ends.
Hopefully, I can squeeze out some time to finish my April's blogs next month (walao, 3 months later 🙇). They are probably the most dragged posts I have. LOL. But I still want to write about them and post it 🙈

It has been really hectic and busy months for me since I joined the Nanowhite Fresh Vlogstar Search competition. I have posted photos and videos about the competition on my social media, eg. Instagram and Facebook. And a lot of people around me has been asking me, like what am I doing with all those Nanowhite hashtag stuff and videos.

To answer all your questions, Nanowhite Fresh Vlogstar Search is actually a 3-months campaign, connecting with youth in Malaysia to develop new social influencer (youtubers, in specific) that believes in making a difference.

I feel super lucky to be able to be one of the top finalists, as I was told that there are hundreds of submissions! I can't believe that I was selected and I was stunned when I received the call from the organizer.

The whole journey was really great, as I have been pampered by a lot of brands, coached by the experts from different industries & also collaborations with top influencers.

On the first day of the workshop, a lot of things happened and it was indeed a money-can't-buy experience for all of us. I thought that it would be a really awkward kind of workshop because I don't know anyone there, but fortunately, I got to meet a lot of inspiring souls. Thought that the whole competition will be like Deep In The Realm Of Conscience (宫心计), but everyone is so friendly!
How to get the competition feel (aka the kia-su spirit)? 😂

Here is a group photo with Guanny Guan, who is running GGTV production, a Digital Media company. He has told us a lot of tips and tricks on how to grow our youtube channel and it was kind of intense for the first day of the workshop. xD

He actually offered to lend us his studio and equipment 😍.
He is so kind and generous la!

And then we got to meet Stella Chung & Nick Chung, who are Malaysian actress and singer!
We also have Elizabeth Tan, a Malaysian singer, who is really good at Ukelele.
They have shared some of their inspiring stories and what it is like to be an influencer. They have tried really hard to achieve what they have and to be the person that they want to be. Love how positive they are and the attitude of not giving up easily. <3 p="">

Here is my second vlog for the Nanowhite Fresh Vlogstar! On the second workshop, it is all about having a healthy lifestyle and self-growing (leadership skill). It was indeed a fun workshop and helpful in knowing everyone (including myself) better.

For that week, I got a mission, where I have to inspire people to start eating healthy and thus I made a video where I will be a vegetarian for a day. It not really a challenge for me. In fact, I have been doing this for quite some while (at least twice a month). It might be a challenge for some people, especially those who are meat lover cause they can't skip a meal without eating meat. Hope this video is inspiring enough to encourage more people to eat healthy and consume less meat. :)

If you want to know how my day goes, click HERE.

Love this workshop the most, because I got pampered by Healthland! The foot massage was so good and I even got an exclusive card, where I can visit the store 10 times with my loved one!
Aren't you think that it's amazing? My parents are actually members of Healthland and now they can visit the place even more often!

In week 4, there is no workshop, but I got another mission, where I have to do something trendy.
What came to my mind, was TikTok. It is what everyone is currently doing and it's actually quite fun to play with.
I have demonstrated 3 types of ways you can play using TikTok (normal, duet and transition) and all of them are taken without rehearsal. Yeap, here's my first try, playing new songs that I have never played before. Please don't laugh or judge me kay 😆 Definitely not an expert in TikTok yet. 🙏 LOL

Mission of the week: Boost our creativity by FITNESS and get our bodies moving, because ABR (Action Brings Results)! 😤👌💯

In this video, I have introduced my mom to you guys, who's more flexible than me! 😂 I'm one of those most inflexible people in the world, but after I did this challenge,  I feel that I have become more flexible and fit. LOL. Watch this video to see me being humiliated. xD

Anyway, I won myself a Xiaomi Mi Band because of this video 😘
Thank you for those who have supported me and this video is by far having the most views, among all my Nanowhite Fresh Vlogstar's videos 💓

Guess what! It's unicorn hair! 🦄

I have been wanting to dye rainbow colour and I feel really blessed to able to pampered by brands and organizer. I have dyed my hair quite frequently this year and I was actually pretty worried that my hair will become more damage when it already is. But with the Dr.Calor's Collegen Hair Coloring Treatment, my hair is still very smooth and soft even after the bleach!

But the colour didn't last very long, probably the shortest that I have, compared to the last hair dye experience I have, which is the con side of this hair colouring. :/

So, in this video, I have featured my favourite colour! Can you guys guess what's it? It's pretty obvious right? 😆 This is actually another mission and also my first time to do this look. I know I still have a lot of improvement but I kinda like it. 😊

The Final decision is happening soon and I hope that you guys can support me by voting me as the next Vlogstar.

So stay tuned to my Youtube because I am going to post my last video, which is also the key video that is going to decide my performance. So please support me, by subscribing to my channel (Cheryl Lim) , cause it is also part of the marking scheme.  I know that the probability of winning is super small, but still, I am gonna try my best.

For those who have been supporting me throughout the whole journey, thank you so so much! 💖I have never expect that I will be able to get this kind of opportunity, being one of the top finalist in my whole life. I always think that being an influencer is like a dream.

I'm glad that I'm able to step out of my comfort zone to join the contest. Win or lose, at least I met a lot of beautiful and creative mind people. One of the common that we all have is that we are dare to dream and take action to achieve what we want. Nothing is impossible if you let your imagination runs who you are and never afraid to dream big.

That's all for this post and I will see you guys soon. :)

Love,
CLYL.

Hi bunnies! How's everyone doing?

I have started working recently and it took up so much of my time, where sometimes I wish that I am still studying. When I was still at uni, I have more time to blog, as well as doing things that I love.

I am not sure whether I still have time to manage my blog since I always come back home so late after work. In fact, it needs a lot of effort, especially after a long tiring day where the only thing you want is sleep and rest.

Oh well, Christmas has passed exactly a month and I am finally posting this video!
I lost count of the years I stop visiting Genting. 10 years ? or more than a decade?

TBH, Genting has changed so much and everything seems so refreshing and nice to me.
I had so much fun walking around, spending quality time with my family.

Especially love the winch show at the Resort World Genting where there are four-story high LED screen and 1001 light bulbs depict the story of Christmas. It is really amazing though 😘

If you have missed the show, catch it by watching my video 😊
You guys might love it. Hope you guys enjoy watching it 💓

Hello everyone! How's everyone doing so far?
I had a wonderful Christmas Staycation at The KL Journal Hotel. All thanks to The Butterfly Project and Traveloka for making it happened. I got to meet the Butterfly community and it was indeed a great opportunity to me.

It has been awhile since I have a short getaway with my friends. To be honest, my stay in The KL Journal has been amazing and meaningful. It is a stylish boutique hotel, which is hidden in KL city center with a relaxing environment. It is located in the main shopping district Bukit Bintang. Thus, it is really convenient for people who want to have a hassle-free stay in the city.

The place is decorated nicely with Christmas elements. Loving the Christmas vibe here and I must say they have put a lot of effort into making the whole hotel nice and insta-worthy. 💗

Upon of arriving, I registered myself with Traveloka's staff at the Worker Union, which is a space for work and play. It is a common area, which consists of meeting studios, business center, terrace bar & grill and more for events and activities! The area is indeed a decent place for people to relax and brainstorming.

After getting our goodie bags and personalized nametag, we got to have our breakfast in the same area. Nasi lemak, croissant, and pancake were served and they are really yummy! 😋

After breakfast, we attended a speech by Traveloka, introducing their newly launched app.

If you didn't know about Traveloka,

It is actually a leading hotel and flight booking platform in Southeast Asia, offering exclusive travel deals with no hidden fees! I always love Traveloka because it offers the best price for flight tickets and hotels in Southeast Asia and it helps me to save a lot of time.

It also helps to solve a lot of the problems, especially for those who always travel around Southeast Asia countries, by giving great saving and convenient platform when “shopping”. It is a complete solution, where you can book the cheapest flights and hotels on just one website!

Now, they have introduced this Price Alert function, where you can fly to your dream destination with your dream flight, in their mobile app. The function allows you to choose your desired time of departure and type of notifications that you prefer for your trip.

It is definitely a plus point, especially for a budget traveler, like me. 🙋

Before I continue my story, let me talk a little more about Traveloka. 😊

Information such as availability of both local and international flights and hotels, hotel's facilities, nearby attractions and MORE can be found in Traveloka. You can literally travel using this one app on your phone.

Ongoing promos, special fare deals and domestics hotel deals and even MEMBER DEALS can be found in the app as well! You will never miss out any of their ongoing flight and hotel discounts because they are all on ONE page, which is absolutely hard to miss. 😉

For an example, if I want to travel to Singapore, all I need to fill in is the date that I wish to travel.
They have the most extensive search result, where you can have the widest selection of airlines and hotels for your needs.

You can also combine multiple airlines for a different destination. Like pairing multi airlines, traveling from one destination to another (MY to SG to KR) and so on.

Yup, they are finally having their own mobile app in both Google Play Store (Android) and App Store (IOS) users, where you can book flights and hotels at ease.

BTW, if you didn't know, Traveloka offers 0% monthly installment plan and they only offer honest price, where all the price listed are inclusive of taxes, surcharges, and payment fee. Which mean that there is NO HIDDEN charge!

So what are you waiting for? Hurry and book your dream destination and start traveling around the world. 😄

After some introduction, we then have some ice-breaking games. I have a lot of fun and the mini-games make all of us connect. All the bloggers are really into the games, which make everything extra fun.

Credit to Eros Si

After the ice-breaking games, everyone was warmed up and I feel that we are all closer together.
This is also the reason why I love being in the community and join this kind of event. It makes me feel that I am not alone and I can have friends who are sharing the same interest as me. Being a blogger is no longer a dream / hard to achieve because I have them. 💗

We have lunch at the Kedai Kopi Journal, which is just downstairs of the Union Work. It is actually a local coffee shop concept cafe, which serves variety choices of food. We had all of our meals there, except tea break. The picture above shows what I had for lunch and it is the Wagyu Beef Burger with sweet potato fries 😋 The Waygu beef is very juicy and flavorful and the fries are to die for!

Credit to Eros Si

HIGHLIGHT of the event!

Since the community is called The Butterfly Project, Tammy, our mamasan decided to release 2 cages of butterflies. 💗 It kind of symbolizes our freedom to explore the world and the opportunities that are awaiting us.

Credit to Eros Si

We also took a group photo at the terrace bar. :)
Can you spot me?

Next up, we have some workshops to attend and they were the Bath Bomb & Scrub Workshop by Wunderbath, Leather Passport Holder Workshop by DIY KL, Journaling workshop by Orange Berry and last but not least the Watercolor Floral Workshop by Black Milk Project.

All the workshops sound really interesting to me and I wish that I can attend all four. However, due to lack of time, we can only register for one workshop. As you guys can see from the picture, I registered myself in the Leather Passport Holder Workshop. 😊

The whole process of making the leather passport holder was fun and I learned a lot of techniques in the process of making one for myself. TBH, I thought that it was very hard to make one but it turned out pretty easy and interesting!

The founder of DIY KL is very friendly and she guided us step by step slowly to make sure that all of us can follow. After around 4 hours of hard work, we were finally done and it was so satisfying! 💗

Here is a group photo of the Leather Passport Holder Workshop team :)
A huge thank DIY KL for allowing me to personalize my passport holder.

Want to know how I DIY my passport holder?

Scroll all the way to the end and click on the video to check it out yourself. 😉

Dinner at Kedai Kopi Journal!

Omg, the meats are amazing and I feel so sinful after eating so much. 😆
It is actually a buffet style and they have prepared various food, from vege, meat, drinks, and even desserts!

Credit to Eros Si

To celebrate early Christmas, we have a Christmas Exchange Present for our roommate.

Curious about what is in the box?
Scroll all the way to the end and click on the video to check it out yourself. 😆

After dinner, we went to The Terrace Bar and Grill, where we have the butterfly release ceremony and group photo in the afternoon.

At night, it turned out to be a relaxed alfresco area for us to unwind and relax, while listening to the live band performance. As it was Saturday, they were giving free cocktail to all the ladies. 😘

Before I went back to my room, I went to the rooftop infinity pool for a night city view, letting the wind to blow on my face. As the wind blows, my mind is clearer and I wonder when will I be this relaxed again. 💗

Here is my last meal in the Kedai Kopi Journal. I had some wholemeal bread, sausage, cheese, tomatoes and beans for breakfast. It was indeed an amazing meal. I feel that I gained so much in that 2 days. LOL.

Credit to Eros Si

To conclude my post, here are some of the insta-worthy photos that I have taken in KL Journal Hotel. 💗

Hope you guys enjoy reading my post and I will see you guys next time. 😉
Thanks for reading!

Ps. watch my video at the end of this post to see how my room looks like :)

Let me bring you guys along to have a "short getaway" with me  :D

Enjoy ;)
