Hello, Bunnies!
Yay to 24days of annual leave I have and here I am staying at home, clearing my photo gallery and doing stuff that I love. 💗

And guess what I found? I found some of the images that I took during my Bentong trip and I was thinking like, why not I write what I have done and eat that day! So, here it goes~
Our first station: the Bentong morning market~ ~

The very first thing my mom did is to get the Bentong ginger xD
If you didn't know yet, Bentong is really famous for their ginger, because of the strong taste and spiciness. My mom bought a lot of them for herself and her sisters tho 😝.

While the aunty was doing her duty, we "kid" got attracted to the malt candy next door.
We're attracted to the seller, who is doing the malt candy on the spot. Of course, we can't miss the chance to get one for each of us.

Opposite the ginger and malt candy store were this Bentong Tau Fu Fa.
As a Tau Fu Fa lover, I didn't get to try their Taufufa here, instead, we had it at another store, which is recommended by the locals.

Here, we have the Smooth Taufa Tang Heng!
The Tau Fu Fa is really smooth, soft and delicious! 😍 After having half bowl of my Taufa, only then I realised that I forgot to snap a picture of it. HAHAHA. I am pretty particular on the taufufa that I eat. I especially love it when it is fresh and hot, just out of the container. 💗 And here it is, one of the best taufa I had.

We also bought some rice dumpling (Zong zi) and we got deceived by the banner. :( The person who is selling this told us that their dumplings are very nice, with a lot of ingredients in it. But the truth is: the rice is more than the meat 😯. Taste is just kay kay only (To be honest, it is not very nice). LOL.

Main purpose of the trip? Of course it's Bentong durian!
My parents can never resist durian. They will still buy and eat it even when they got mouth ulcer.
I didn't have any of the durians even though they said it's very nice. This is because I didn't want to have stinky fingers and there's no toilet around. But they do provide water for those who want to wash their hands la.

Next up, we had some ice kacang and cendol because the weather is too hot and we're like melting. We had our desserts at T.A.K Ice Cream Corner and I feel that they're pretty good. But, I still think that Malacca has the best cendol. :P

Before we head up to Genting, we stopped by at this Bentong Tau Fu Pok, which is run by the whole family. I got to try their freshly fried Tau Fu Pok, and I tell you, it is so delicious even without the sauce! 💗 We bought a few packets for our relatives and they all love it! :D

Last but not least, got some fried red bean bao and fried sweet potato balls on our way back.
Not sure where we got it, but we just got it when we passed by.

This is a very short itinerary or you can say my travel diary.
If 1 day I would like to visit Bentong again, at least I know where to go and what to get.
So, that's all for this post. Thanks for reading and I will see you guys in my next post :).

Love,
CLYL.

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog! 😊
As Althea’s huge fan, I have shared so many Korean beauty products that I got from Althea Korea. I love exploring new skincare and beauty products, even though some are not my favourite, there are still some products that I love and am still using. One of the major reasons I love purchasing in Althea is because they are 100% authentic imported from Korea and I get to try a lot of trendy Korean beauty products that are still not available in my country! Furthermore, if you compare the price on their website with other online/ actual store, you will find that some of their products are way cheaper!

Today, I have an EXCITING news that I want to announce before I straight into the review.

I am joining the BIG family, as one of the Althea Angels!!!

Here is the welcome gift that I got from the Althea's Angel Community. I also got the pale pink box (unlike the usual Althea box), with the words “Althea Angel” and an angel on it, exclusively for the Althea Angels. As an angel, we got to get the products a few weeks beforehand, when the products are not launched yet! This makes me feel so excited because it means I got to explore more beauty products! 😍

As you can see, I got the new Althea Real Fresh Skin Detoxer, in both Rose and Green Tea, a limited edition “Althea Turns 3” canvas bag, a “spread your wings” pouch, a “spread your wings” mirror 3 little cute “Althea Turns 3” birthday book boxes and of course the welcome letter from Althea.

The main stars, of course, go to the Althea Real Fresh Skin Detoxer. The Detoxers are actually in collaboration with Get It Beauty. It is actually a very popular tv show from Korea, where they introduce new trend and information that are beauty related.

Instead of spending 10-20minutes on your skin to make it looks good, they are now introducing a 10-seconds daily wash-off mask cleanser for those who are either busy hustling or lazy like me :D. It’s a 2-in-1 daily cleanser pack, where you can use it as an exfoliating mask and a cleanser. It is able to leave your skin clean, soft, energized and healthy everyday.

This is the Althea Real Fresh Skin Detoxer – Rose. It is showcased with real, fresh Premium rose petals, which is great to refine the skin. It is able to smooth away roughness and give the skin a radiant glow in just 10 seconds.

If you didn't know yet, our skin loves rose so much, as it can help to purify and improve the blood circulation. It helps to ensure our skin is revitalized, supple and bright all the time. 💗 That's why you can see many skincare products contain rose extract as one of their main ingredients.

How to use: Squeeze out a generous amount and apply a relatively thick layer onto the skin. Leave the product for 10 seconds, then add some water and massage in circular motion with petal bubbles. Lastly, rinse it off with water.

My thoughts

I feel that the Rose Detoxer does a really great job in cleansing my face, as my skin feels very clean and soft after using it. Especially love the rose scent, which is absolutely pleasant and nice, a lot (a plus point for it). It is very easy to spread everything on the face and the rose petals are pretty gentle on the skin (I literally can't feel the rose petals when massaging my face). However, it does take some time for me to wash everything off when I put a relatively thick layer of the mask on my face.

There is no any irritation or any breakout on my skin, but I feel that it is in the less moisturising side, and can be a little drying if I put the mask/massage it for too long. So, it is best not to leave it for more than 10 seconds, as it is powerful enough to revitalise your skin. 😉

Btw, it is recommended to use in the morning to smooth away the roughness and give the radiant glow 🎇 It also preps your skin better before you apply any makeup.

Here comes the second star, the  Althea Real Fresh Skin Detoxer – Green Tea. It contains real Jeju green tea leaves, which act as an exfoliator, to remove the dead skin. It is able to relieve the sensitive skin and purify the skin for those who want to achieve a healthy boost skin in just 10 seconds.

It is also said that they use the softest and most delicate baby green tea leaf, which can collect 5 times more vitamin C than lemons! This is especially good to protect your skin from the UV damage and relieve stressed-skin fast by purifying your skin. 💗

How to use: Squeeze out a generous amount and apply a relatively thick layer onto the skin. Leave the product for 10 seconds, then add some water and massage in circular motion with leaves bubbles. Lastly, rinse it off with water.

My thoughts

After using the Green Tea detoxer, I feel that my face is very refreshing and clean. The blended baby tea leaf is very gentle on my face, and unlike the usual face scrub, it can be used everyday to purify my tired skin. The smell is very decent, which makes me want the product to stay on my face longer. Of course, 10 seconds will be sufficient, so there is no need to leave it longer.

Just like the Rose detoxer, it does take some time to wash off everything and I also feel that it is not very moisturizing. In fact, it is less moisturizing than the Rose detoxer. But I do love the clean feeling after I massage the leave bubbles on my face.

It is recommended to use in the night to calm down and purify the sensitive skin. Thus, this is especially suitable for those who are lazy, yet want their skin to be clean and rest after a long day.

A summary for both of the products. 💗

This 10 seconds mask cleansers are definitely meant for me, and those who are super lazy/ busy. I always have high expectations for Althea's skincare products because they really know what people nowadays need (Super recommend their Velvet Powder and the Bare Essentials line). A fuss-free product that can do the job well, with lesser time/ steps in the routine is what I really want.

Who doesn't want to save their time by having mask and cleanser at the same time? Plus all you need is just leave it for 10seconds! Isn't that a steal already? I personally love the Rose Detoxer more because of the scent and I feel that it works better on my skin.

However, I feel that the baby tea leaf in the Greem Tea detoxer does a better job in exfoliating if compared to the rose petals in the Rose detoxer. Both leave my skin very clean and their moisturizing powers are not as good as I have expected. But still, their main claims are to refine and purify your skin. So, it is still very important to put moisturizer after that. :)

BTW, they are currently having a promotion, where you can get 10% OFF if you buy the 2 skin detoxer in set. Click the link HERE to make your purchase! :)

Thanks for reading!

Hi everyone, I am back with another review post! :)
When it comes to Korean skincare, it is all about having dewy and fair glass skin. Today, I am going to talk about this The Face Shop White Seed Spotlight Radiance Cream, which I got recently.

This White Seed Radiance Cream is a daily tone-up cream that instantly brightens and smoothes out dull, flaky skin tone with ingredients including hyaluronic acid and willow extract. It is a radiance cream that illuminates your complexion like an instant spotlight. 🔆

If you didn't know yet, White Seed is a basic brightening skincare targeting those who are aged 25 and below that uses white seed complex and 3-step real brightening system (skin tone care, spot care and brightening) to keep skin bright, milk-like and clear.

As the moisturiser from this skincare line is a cream with brightening function, this product brings out the natural glow of skin in the skincare step (instant brightening). It is able to prep your skin before you apply any makeup and is great for the day to achieve natural brightened complexion
Dual function. In fact, it works greatly on fighting pigmented skin and uneven skin tone.

It contains “Titanium Dioxide” which is a natural mineral ingredient that helps in
absorbing ultra-violet rays, enabling a transparent barrier that protects the skin. At the same time, its fine and whitish powder appearance provides some coverage for blemishes too!

The White Seed Moisture Cream comes in a white coloured, heavy plastic jar packaging, with a silver-grey screw lid on top. There is an additional lid inside to prevent the product from spilling and a spatula for hygiene purpose.

The cream is in the light pink coloured and it has a fresh floral fragrance, which I love.
The texture is a bit thick but pretty easy to blend on the skin. :)

How to Use: After applying lotion, dispense a sufficient amount and spread over the face from the centre out.

As you can see in the above picture, the product applied very well and even. The cream is able to give you an instant brightening effect on your skin that usually one or two tones lighter than your natural skin tone. I feel that it is a really great product for those who want to improve dull skin tones.

Here is a picture of me applying the product on half of my face; with the cream on my left side and without the cream on my right side. I think it is pretty obvious that the left side of my face is brighter and clearer.

To be honest, the cream is really effective on brightening my skin tone, as I only used a small amount for my whole face. It gives an instant brightening effect, yet still looking natural and far off from that ghost-looking white cast.

In fact, I look less dead and more lively after using the cream! If you want your skin to have the natural glow, a little goes a long way. But if you want a fairer and brighter skin, you can use a little more of the product. By the way, the cream is not oily AT ALL! 😍 Totally a great product to kick away dullness.

What makes me love this product more is that it doesn’t have any SPF in it, which mean I can even use it at night! But I feel that it is slightly less hydrating for my skin, so I usually use it in the day for a better complexion.

Overall, I really love it because it actually helps with my skin's yellowness as it naturalises my skin tone. I would love to recommend this product for those of you, who are looking for a tone-up product that is infused with skin brightening benefits. This product is also ideal for those of you who love no-makeup makeup look as this cream works great underneath sunscreen.

Thus, I am rating this 4/5. It is indeed a decent moisturiser that can help instantly brighten up my skin 💓
A minor point deduction is merely because it is slightly less hydrating than I have expected it to be.

That's all for it.
See you guys in my next post! Annyeong~

CLYL.

This post has been drafting in my blog for the longest time and I am finally going to write about it. My so-called second hometown is at Malacca because I will visit Malacca at least once a year. But I have never visited The Daily Fix until recently (not so recent, actually HAHA). To be honest, I feel that this cafe is totally over-rated.

Continue read it and I will tell you why I said that.

I was so shocked to find the place crowded with people even on the weekdays! We have waited more than 30minutes just for a seat and more minutes for the food to come.

The Daily Fix is a cafe located at Jonker Street, hidden behind a souvenir store. I believe that a lot of people are familiar with this place when it comes to a cafe in Jonker Street. It has been consistently be sighted on social media due to their photogenic corners and the ambience. This has made a lot of people to visit this place and even foreigners can be seen in the cafe, since Jonker Street is one of the top tourist destination in Malacca.

Here is the back of the cafe where you will find an indoor courtyard. Every corner is decorated with vintage pieces, from benches, old tv, fan, plates and more, which bring people back in the old time in Malacca. I am loving how the vintage kaleidoscopic plates are reused as backdrops!

Here are some of the cakes that they offered that day.

Guess what! They even have durian cake! :O
It is one of their best sellers, but I wasn't that daring to try that. HAHA

Smoked Duck Aglio Olio (RM18.50)
Spaghetti with smoked duck, garlic, chilli flakes and olive oil.

The spaghetti is well cooked and the smoked duck is SOOO GOOD!!
Love this dish but the portion quite small la. Not sure is it because I wait until very hungry d or I do have huge appetite 😅.

Choc Chip Pancake (RM13.90)
Comes with generous amount of chocolate chips.

To be honest, I feel a bit cheated about this because: Where got "generous amount" of chocolate chips!? If the menu didn't write that, I won't be that disappointed tho. And the chocolate sauce is only on the top part, how about the pancakes on the bottom? It was sweet at the top, but kind of tasteless when it reach bottom :(.

Local Pandan Pancake (RM13.90)
Made from 100% juicy pandan leaves extract, served with Gula Melaka and coconut.

Here comes the most raved pandan pancake! It smells very good, and taste exactly like pandan pancake (which I find nothing special, LOL). The pancake is very soft and yummy, but without the Gula Melaka coconut, I don't think I will ever order this again. I just don't understand why is it so special and everyone is recommending this out of so many dishes.

I seriously think I have expected too much 😭.

Cheesecake (RM11.90)

Decent cheesecake. But yea, nothing really special.

Rose Latte (RM11)

This is a No No for me. Still feel that Since 18's rose latte is the best.

Caramel Macchiato (RM11)

Not bad. That's all I can say.

Overall, The Daily Fix is a decent place for meal and photo, but their Pandan pancake seriously leaves me disappointed. If you asked me whether I will visit the place, I don't think so. The place is packed with diners and I would rather have traditional Nyonya food/ food from the locals that have an early taste (古早味).

The Daily Fix Cafe

Opening Hours: 9am – 11.30pm (Mon-Fri), 8.30am – 11.30pm (Sat-Sun)
